Our trash can is going to be displayed inside our school.  Our school mascot is a falcon, so we wanted to put a falcon on the trash can so the students, faculty, and any visitors understood the connection to our school.  The falcon is holding a key because everyone who is part of the St. Clare School community is "key" to our school being litter free.  The top of the trash can is painted as a lock, and the keyhole is cut out so trash can be deposited in the hole - which is the "key" to being litter free.  Plus, it gives the idea that we are "locking" the litter away.  The students drew, painted, and created all of the details and decorations.  The paper used was recycled paper that was "gifted" to us, as well as the tissue paper, and other materials that were leftovers or recycled from other projects we've done in class.
