We chose the theme "Litter Bugs Us!" because litter really does bug us.  We each drew and painted a frog for the trash can, and also created a bug for our frog to be eating or getting ready to catch.  The message tells all of our students, faculty, and visitors that trash is not acceptable - IT BUGS US! - so we are giving them the message that we want to keep our school clean and we hope they help do the same.  We made the bugs out of scrap file folders, "gifted" paper, and scrap art supplies.  We cut the lilly pads out of an old tablecloth Mrs. Brown used to use for a paint cloth, and made the flowers out of tissue paper scraps.  We also used old laminated scrap paper for the words.  We are going to display our trash can in our school for all to use.
