The inspiration for this year’s trash can was the recent release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The theme, Trash Wars: Restoring Cleanliness to the Galaxy, includes old and new elements of the movies.  The design includes a version of BB-8 in Osage school colors with a map showing the location of all Osage Middle School trash cans. This trash can will be placed in our school's commons area, where there is heavy student traffic and the can's design allows for its trash bag to be easily be replaced.  Design elements on the trash can include characters from previous movies with Native American titles like Wise Man C3PO, Chief Vader, Elder Yoda, and Maiden Leia.  Each character offers a modified movie quote relating to trash. C3PO states, "I am fluent in over 6 million forms of communication, but I do not talk trash."  Leia expresses, "The trash goes in the garbage chute, flyboy."  There are several pieces of scrap metal collected from our high school industrial arts classroom sporadically placed on the trash can;  scrap pieces are in place for BB-8's antenna.  One sign on the trash can gives a variety of Star Wars movie facts while another sign is modeled after the rolling intro to all the Star Wars movies.  This sign also has the No MOre Trash symbol.
